FBI Joins Search for Missing 7-Year-Old Kyron Horman in Portland

Disappearance Sparks Community Concern and Nationwide Attention

Portland, Oregon — The FBI has joined the ongoing investigation into the mysterious disappearance of 7-year-old Kyron Horman, who was last seen at Skyline Elementary School on the morning of his science fair. The event, held on June 4, 2010, began earlier than usual to accommodate both students and parents eager to view the science projects.

    Last Known Sightings

Kyron arrived at the school shortly after 8 a.m. with his stepmother, Terri Horman. Together, they visited his classroom, where he deposited his coat and backpack before showcasing his science exhibit, titled “The Red-Eyed Tree Frog.” Reports indicate that the two were seen interacting with teachers and other parents during the event. Notably, Terri Horman volunteered to assist Kyron’s teacher, Kristina Porter, who later confirmed she had seen both Kyron and Terri in the classroom just before the 8:45 a.m. school bell rang.

According to Terri, she last saw Kyron walking down a hallway towards his classroom shortly after saying goodbye. His belongings had already been left in the classroom when the pair first arrived at the school.

As the school day progressed, there were no signs of Kyron. Following a regular schedule that included reading group, recess, and lunch, students boarded buses home around 3 p.m. Kyron’s father, Kaine Horman, was preparing to meet him at the bus stop when he realized something was amiss. When Kyron did not arrive, Kaine initially thought there had been a mix-up, only to learn from the school that his son had been marked absent and had not been seen all day.

    Community and Investigative Response

Authorities quickly initiated a timeline of events surrounding Kyron’s disappearance. As of now, the only additional report of someone seeing him came around 9 a.m. from an undisclosed witness who has yet to be identified.

The community is coming together to support the search efforts, and a growing number of organizations, including the FBI, are working in tandem with local law enforcement, hoping to gather any leads that could assist in locating Kyron.

"We are committed to finding Kyron and bringing him home," said a spokesperson for the case. As the investigation unfolds, the authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The search for Kyron Horman continues to gain momentum, and updates will be provided as new information becomes available.

    Conclusion

The uncertainty surrounding Kyron’s fate has left many in the Portland area concerned and on edge. Parents, community members, and law enforcement alike are looking for answers in this deeply troubling case.
