    Arrest Made in Connection with Fatal North Carolina Shooting

    Lenoir Man Charged with Attempted Murder Following Weekend Violence

    Authorities in Catawba County have arrested a 20-year-old man in connection with a shooting that left one individual dead and injured at least 11 others during a house party. Garon Nathaniel Killian, a resident of Lenoir, was charged with attempted murder and is currently being held in jail without bond, according to the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office.

    The tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning in a typically quiet residential neighborhood located approximately seven miles south of Hickory. Witnesses reported a chaotic scene as approximately 80 shots rang out around 12:45 a.m., prompting attendees to flee in all directions for their safety.

    The violence resulted in the death of 58-year-old Shawn Patrick Hood of Lenoir, who was the oldest among the victims, while the ages of those injured ranged from as young as 16. The party, which quickly escalated into mayhem, left many with gunshot wounds, while others sustained injuries while trying to escape.

    Following the shooting, the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office executed multiple search warrants as part of their investigation. Sheriff’s officials stated that further arrests could be anticipated as they delve deeper into the circumstances surrounding the event.
