    Tragic Shooting at Woodlawn Gas Station Leaves One Dead, Two Wounded

    Woodsawn, Chicago – A violent shooting inside a gas station on Saturday afternoon resulted in the death of one man and injuries to two others, along with a young child who was caught in the chaos. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. in the 800 block of East 63rd Street, as witnesses described a scene of panic when two armed assailants entered the business and opened fire.

    Details of the Incident

    Authorities from the Chicago Police Department reported that a 31-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The victim has not yet been identified, pending notification of his family.

    In addition to the fatality, two other men, aged 25 and 40, were also injured during the shooting. The younger victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, while the older individual was grazed on the head. Both men are currently reported to be in stable condition.

    Tragically, a 6-year-old boy was also injured during the incident; he suffered minor injuries from glass fragments and was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition.

    Ongoing Investigation

    As of now, law enforcement has made no arrests, and investigators are actively pursuing leads. No further information regarding the suspects or a possible motive has been released at this time.

    Local residents expressed shock and concern over the shooting, highlighting the need for increased safety measures in the community. “This is unacceptable. We’re scared for our families,” said one resident, who wished to remain anonymous.

    Police continue to gather evidence and speak with witnesses. They are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward.
