Founder of GirlsDoPorn Pleads Guilty to Sex Trafficking
Michael Pratt Faces Life in Prison After Years on the Run
Michael Pratt, the founder of the notorious adult entertainment website GirlsDoPorn, has pleaded guilty to sex trafficking charges after evading authorities for three years. The 42-year-old New Zealander was once listed among the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted fugitives and has been implicated in the exploitation of countless women, primarily teenagers, under false pretenses.
A Deceptive Operation
Pratt, along with co-conspirators, operated from San Diego starting in 2012. The group targeted young women through misleading casting calls that promised lucrative modeling opportunities. However, the reality was far darker; many women were coerced into performing in pornographic videos, often under the guise of private auditions.
According to the Department of Justice, Pratt assured participants that their videos would remain private and not be distributed online, an assertion that proved false. Victims later reported experiencing intimidation tactics when they attempted to withdraw from filming, including threats of legal action and bullying.
Fugitive Status and Arrest
Pratt fled the United States in 2019, finding refuge in Spain until his arrest by Spanish authorities in December 2022. Extradited to the U.S. in March 2024, he has now officially acknowledged his role in the sex trafficking network that reportedly generated over $17 million during its operation.
The Consequences for Pratt and His Associates
In court, Pratt admitted to leading the operation that took advantage of vulnerable young women. He is set to face sentencing on September 8, and he could receive a life sentence for his crimes.
Pratt’s co-founder, Matthew Isaac Wolfe, received a 14-year prison sentence earlier this year. Additionally, Ruben Andre Garcia, who participated in the recordings, was sentenced to 20 years in 2021, while cameraman Theodore Gyi was handed a 4-year sentence in 2022. Office manager Valorie Moser is scheduled for sentencing on September 12, 2025.
As the case unfolds, it raises critical questions about accountability in the adult entertainment industry and the persistent threat of exploitation that many young women face.
While Pratt remains at the center of this highly publicized case, advocates are calling for more stringent regulations to prevent future abuses in similar contexts.
