Charges Filed Against Norwegian Royal: Marius Borg Høiby Faces Serious Allegations

Oslo, Norway — In a shocking turn of events, the eldest son of Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, Marius Borg Høiby, has been formally charged with multiple counts of rape and sexual assault involving a “double-digit number” of alleged victims, according to authorities. The Oslo police announced the charges during a press conference on Friday, following an extensive investigation that has spanned most of 2024.

    Details of the Allegations

At 28 years old, Høiby finds himself facing severe legal repercussions. Police Attorney Andreas Kruszewski stated that while further specifics regarding the victims cannot be disclosed, the case is significant in scope, indicating a troubling pattern of behavior.

    He has been charged with:

    • One case of rape involving intercourse
    • Two cases of rape without intercourse
    • Four cases of sexual assault
    • Two cases of bodily harm

The investigation was aided by interviews with victims and examination of text message conversations, which reportedly provided crucial evidence.

    Høiby’s Response and Background

Marius Borg Høiby, often referred to publicly as "Little Marius," has previously been vocal about his struggles with cocaine addiction. He has cooperated with authorities throughout the questioning process and takes the accusations seriously. However, his defense attorney, Petar Sekulic, emphasized that Høiby does not admit to wrongdoing in most of the cases, particularly regarding the allegations of sexual abuse and violence.

“I cannot disclose details on the number of victims but can confirm it is significant,” Kruszewski remarked, highlighting the gravity of the situation.

Høiby is currently free pending further proceedings as the legal process unfolds. The Norwegian royal palace has chosen not to comment on the case, stating it will adhere to “normal procedures.”

    Family Dynamics and Public Perception

Previously residing with the Norwegian royal family, Høiby now lives in a separate house nearby, as noted by his attorney. His upbringing in a highly publicized environment, tied to both immense privilege and personal challenges, adds another layer of complexity to the unfolding story. His biological father, Morton Borg, has a history of legal troubles, having served time for drug-related and violent offenses.

This case has understandably garnered significant public interest, as it touches upon both the monarchy’s reputation and the sensitivity surrounding issues of sexual violence. As the investigation continues, further developments are expected, and the royal family’s responses will likely be closely monitored by both the media and the public.

This is a developing story. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
