Margate Police Report Surge in Crime Incidents Mid-June

Vehicle Theft and Burglary Cases on the Rise

The Margate Police Department has been busy responding to a series of incidents reported in the community between June 9 and June 14. Among the notable cases was the theft of a 2022 black Dodge Challenger, taken from 7230 W. Atlantic Blvd. The vehicle was last seen between 1 p.m. on June 9 and 1 p.m. on June 10. Additionally, a MacBook Pro was reported stolen from an unlocked car near NW 62 Avenue during the afternoon of June 14.

    Violent Crimes and Domestic Incidents

A concerning act of robbery occurred on June 14 at a Five Below store located at 3460 NW 62nd Ave. A man in his 50s, described as having grayish hair, reportedly stole items and threatened the manager with a knife. Retail thefts have also been reported, including an incident at Dollar General, where a woman in a pink tank top left the store without paying for cleaning supplies.

Domestic violence incidents have been a significant focus for local law enforcement:

    • Emmanuel Charles, aged 26, was arrested at his SW 51 Ave residence for battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly assaulting his partner.
    • Ahmad Alotairi, 30, faces charges of domestic battery and aggravated assault after reportedly holding a knife to a victim’s face and throwing her to the ground; he was also taken in under Florida’s Baker Act.

    Drug-Related Arrests and Driving Offenses

In a crackdown on drug-related offenses, police arrested Rene Danger, 53, at 7000 W. Atlantic Blvd. for possession of cocaine and driving with a suspended license. Similarly, Martin Anderson, 28, was apprehended during a traffic stop for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription.

Driving under the influence (DUI) has also been prevalent, with several arrests including:

    • Kevin Pazmino, 30, detained for DUI at 5500 W. Atlantic Blvd.
    • Another male suspect who fled a traffic stop and was later apprehended for DUI-related charges at 6200 W. Atlantic Blvd.

    Warrant Arrests and Fraud Charges

The police also reported various warrant arrests, including Vilkens Sajousse, 24, for driving with a suspended license, and Rodney Murray, 23, who was arrested during a perimeter assist for “No Lodging.” Notably, Dontrell Dukes, 36, was taken into custody for fraud at Synovus Bank located at 5375 W. Atlantic Blvd.

As police continue to address these issues, community members are encouraged to remain vigilant. Local law enforcement is actively investigating these incidents and is asking anyone with information to come forward.

Developing updates will follow as further details emerge, ensuring the community remains informed about ongoing safety concerns and law enforcement efforts in Margate.
