Arizona Girls Arrested in Disturbing Plot to Kill Classmate

Concerning Scheme Unraveled at Surprise Charter School

In a shocking incident at Legacy Traditional School in Surprise, Arizona, four fifth-grade girls have been arrested for allegedly planning to murder a classmate and stage the act to resemble a suicide. The plot, conceived during lunch and recess on October 1, 2024, reportedly stemmed from a personal dispute linked to the boy’s recent breakup.

    Outline of the Planned Attack

According to a police report obtained by local media outlet KPHO, the girls—ages 10 and 11—developed specific roles for their dangerous scheme. Their plan included luring the boy into an outdoor bathroom, where one girl was designated to stab him in the stomach.

    • Task Assignments:
      • One girl was responsible for bringing a knife.
      • Another was tasked with forging a suicide note.
      • A third girl would act as a lookout, while the fourth would carry out the attack.

The girls even intended to wear gloves to avoid leaving fingerprints, showcasing a chilling level of premeditation.

    Discovery and Arrest

The insidious plot came to light when other students overheard the conversations and promptly reported them to school authorities. In collaboration with the school resource officer, officials investigated the situation, leading to the discovery of the details pertaining to the girls’ plan.

Once informed of the scheme, the school enacted measures that included searches of the girls’ backpacks and comprehensive questioning in the presence of their parents. Although three of the girls expressed feelings of remorse over their intentions, one reportedly smiled and made light of the situation during the interrogation.

    Legal Consequences

The quartet has faced charges of threatening and disorderly conduct and has been suspended pending expulsion from school. They have since been released to their parents. While the local police and school officials have opted not to comment further on the case, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has indicated that the investigation is now closed.

As this story continues to develop, the community is left reeling from such a deeply troubling incident involving young children.
