Former Florida Educator Charged with Sexual Assault of Minor
ORLANDO, FL – A troubling case has emerged involving a former middle school educator, Sarah Jacas, who is facing serious allegations of sexual misconduct involving a 14-year-old boy. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reports that Jacas, 32, has been charged with multiple counts related to lewd battery and molestation, alongside one count of statutory rape committed by someone in a position of authority.
Allegations of Abuse
According to an arrest warrant obtained by People Magazine, the alleged incidents took place in 2023 while the victim was enrolled at Corner Lake Middle School in Orlando. The young man, now 16, disclosed his experiences to law enforcement, prompting an investigation into the troubling relationship he had with Jacas.
The investigation revealed that Jacas had initiated one-on-one lunch sessions designed to help the boy acclimate socially within the school environment. As their relationship developed, it allegedly evolved into inappropriate behavior. The victim reported that these interactions included hugs and kisses that eventually escalated to sexual acts.
Witness accounts indicated that Jacas took measures to isolate the child, including covering classroom windows and establishing a pillow in a secluded corner for illicit encounters. Such actions raised significant alarm regarding her motives as an educator.
Text Messages and Social Media Fallout
Further complicating matters, communications between Jacas and the victim occurred outside of school hours and included explicit text messages. The boy’s mother reportedly uncovered these messages when she spotted a conversation at 1 a.m., labeling the interactions as "abnormal."
The situation escalated with Jacas allegedly creating a fake Instagram account to engage in "dirty talk" with the student. Reports claim she made statements that implied a romantic involvement, even stating, “I just had sex with my husband and it wasn’t the best but I imagined it was you.”
Consequences and Arrest
Tensions heightened when Jacas’s husband discovered the nature of her relationship with the victim and reportedly threatened to report her actions. After the victim contacted Jacas while accompanied by law enforcement, she was taken into custody on June 23. She was subsequently released on bail just two days later.
This case continues to develop, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
