Manhunt Intensifies for Father Accused of Murdering Three Daughters

Washington State Authorities Release New Images of Suspect

The search for Travis Decker, a 32-year-old man accused of murdering his three young daughters in late September, has taken a critical turn as the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) released additional images and details about the suspect. Police labeled Decker as “dangerous” and issued a warning that he “may be armed.” He was last seen wearing a tan or green t-shirt and dark shorts, standing at 5 feet 8 inches tall, with black hair and brown eyes.

Tragic Discovery Near Rock Island Campground

Police made the harrowing discovery of 9-year-old Paityn Decker, 8-year-old Evelyn Decker, and 5-year-old Olivia Decker dead near the Rock Island Campground on Monday. Investigators believe the girls were killed during a supervised visitation with their father before he fled the scene. According to court documents, the girls were found approximately 75 to 100 yards down an embankment, with zip ties and plastic bags nearby. Reports indicate that each child had a bag placed over her head, suggesting they had been suffocated.

Concerns Over Potential Escape to Canada

In a concerning development, a U.S. Marshals Service affidavit reveals that authorities are worried Decker may attempt to flee the country. Online searches linked to him included phrases like “how to relocate to Canada” and “how does a person move to Canada.” The area where the girls’ remains were discovered is notably close to the Canadian border and only about 11 miles from the Pacific Crest Trail, a known route that leads directly to Canada. Law enforcement officials believe Decker’s outdoor survival skills, honed during his time in the U.S. Army and through mountain survival training, could hinder ongoing search efforts.

    Community On High Alert

The CCSO continues to investigate and act on tips from the public, while also encouraging community vigilance, especially in recreation areas of Chelan County, which have recently been reopened.

A reward of up to $20,000 has been issued by the U.S. Marshals Service for any information leading to Decker’s arrest. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant details to contact the CCSO tip line at 509-667-6845 or submit information through their online portal.

This case remains under active investigation, and updates will be provided as they become available.
