Fitness Influencer "Liver King" Arrested After Threats to Podcaster Joe Rogan

Austin, TX — In a startling development, fitness influencer Brian Johnson, better known as "Liver King," was arrested on Tuesday for making threatening statements toward popular podcaster Joe Rogan. Authorities were alerted to a series of concerning videos Johnson posted on Instagram, in which he expressed a desire to confront Rogan in a physical altercation.

    Threatening Social Media Rants

The Austin Police Department began investigating after Rogan reported a series of erratic social media posts from Johnson, 47, where he openly challenged Rogan to a fight while displaying firearms. Rogan, who has lived in Austin since relocating from California in 2020, stated that he had no prior interactions with Johnson and considered the posts to be threatening. He described Johnson as "significantly unstable" and mentioned hearing from others that the influencer might have a serious drug issue.

Following the Chief’s input, police tracked down Johnson, who had checked into the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, where he continued his aggressive online commentary.

    Arrest and Charges

Officers arrested Johnson at around 6 p.m., subsequently charging him with Terroristic Threat—classified as a Class B misdemeanor. Upon his arrest, Johnson’s mugshot depicted him looking disheveled and emotionally detached, an image that has drawn significant media attention.

Johnson was released on a $20,000 bond with several conditions, including no contact with Rogan or his family and a mandated mental health evaluation within a week. He is also prohibited from possessing firearms.

    Background on "Liver King"

Johnson gained notoriety for his fitness regime and controversial claims, including a past admission of spending $11,000 monthly on steroids to achieve his muscular physique. He boasts over 10 million followers on social media and has become a significant figure in the fitness community.

In the videos leading up to his arrest, Johnson proclaimed his willingness to engage in a "man-to-man" fight with Rogan, suggesting he has much to fight for, including his family. Despite the escalating tension, Rogan has not yet publicly commented on the incident or Johnson’s continued provocations.

As the situation unfolds, the public remains keenly interested in both Rogan’s and Johnson’s next moves, especially regarding the escalating threat posed in the realms of social media and mental health.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
